More About Kate Busch

Kate Busch practices in the areas of estate and business planning, and trust and probate administration. Kate works with individuals, families, and businesses, both young and more experienced, to help plan for the present and the future.

Kate graduated from Clopton High School in Clarksville, Missouri, where she was active in FFA and athletics. She graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri with degrees in Political Science and Spanish, and she was a four-year member of Marching Mizzou.

Following her undergraduate education, Kate served as the legislative director for the Speaker pro tem of the Missouri House of Representatives. She then began law school at the University of Miami in Florida, but quickly realized her heart was still in Missouri, and she returned after her first year to complete law school at the University of Missouri.

Kate began her legal career as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Warren County, Missouri. She handled all levels of criminal cases, provided legal advice to the Planning and Zoning Commission, represented the county at the State Tax Commission, and was actively

involved in the treatment court programs in Warren County. During her time in Warren County, Kate also served as the municipal prosecuting attorney and city attorney for the City of Jonesburg, taught Statutory Law at the Eastern Missouri Police Academy, and conducted training for law enforcement at the local and state levels.

In December 2012, Kate joined the University of Missouri School of Law as the Director of Career Development. While at Mizzou, Kate also taught practical courses in the law school and served as Chair of the Professional Sports Counseling Panel.

Kate started with Haden & Colbert in February 2016, and she has found her passion for working with families, farmers, and business owners to help ease the stress of transitioning operations and assets to the next generation. She is also a member of Missouri Cattleman’s.

Kate lives in rural Boone County with her husband, Dan, and their two children. Kate and her family stay busy as active members of the Crossing Church and with youth sports. They also frequently return to Dan’s third-generation family farm near Washington, MO to work cattle and play with cousins.
